The Clinical Lead Nurse will wish to provide innovative care and work as a committed member of the team within the centre and support the Home Manager to deliver high clinical standards and a high-quality provision of care. To be able to write and carry through high-quality person-centred care plans. To support and develop clinical staff to actively promote and encourage as much personal independence and choice as possible within the activities of daily living. Ensure that CQC standards and legal obligations are met. To communicate with third parties including relatives and external organisations.

A staff development programme operates, and clinical staff are expected to keep up to date with clinical skills, legislation changes and the Centre’s policies and procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The post holder will have responsibility for leading a team of nursing staff to ensure the delivery of an excellent standard of care, which promotes independence and dignity, and positively enhances the lives of individuals in our care.

For the position, you will be required to provide clinical management experience, along with a caring and professional ethos, good clinical background, and a current up to date NMC pin.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• To carry responsibility for the management of the unit during the day.
• Develop and manage the skills of the care team.
• To promote and maintain a high standard of nursing care.
• To ensure effective induction of all staff, together with clinical supervision of trained staff, mentorship and assessment of student nurses and induction of new care staff.
• To work within the NMC code of professional conduct and CQC standards as well as following internal policies and procedures.
• Planning, directing and delivery of high-quality person-centred care.
• To undertake staff reviews and team meetings.
• To monitor the quality of care offered.
• To evaluate employee performance, monitoring nurses closely to ensure they fulfil their job duties and provide only the best care.

Tasks and responsibilities within your area of capability may vary occasionally depending upon the needs of the business. You may be asked to undertake a variation of your normal routine to meet these needs. Your enthusiasm and flexibility will be appreciated.
